Opening the International Technology Talent Pipeline

The New Jersey Business Immigration Coalition, in partnership with New Jersey Business and Industry Association & Einstein's Alley, is pleased to invite you to a virtual program: Opening the International Technology Talent Pipeline - Strategies for Reforming American Immigration Policy to Advance New Jersey's Economy.

How can immigration policy - including policy related to H1B "specialty occupation" visas - promote economic recovery and growth?
What is the current state of play in Washington on immigration reform?
How can we revive a bipartisan consensus on immigration?

Join us for a discussion with immigration experts, political leaders, and industry representatives on the importance of employment-based immigration to the American economy. Speakers will discuss a number of issues that are relevant to federal labs and their industry partners who understand the value of a diverse workforce, including H1B visas for skilled talent acquisition and attracting and retaining international graduate students.

Keynote speaker Jorge Lima is the senior vice president of policy at Americans for Prosperity. He is also the Vice President of Immigration at Stand Together, an organization working to solve society's most complex problems. He has also served as Strategic Policy Advisor to Luis Fortuño, the governor of Puerto Rico, and as an attorney for the City of Miami. Jorge is a member of the Florida bar and holds a JD from Georgetown University.

Other speakers will represent the Cap May County Chamber of Commerce, Unilever Corporation, the President's Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, Connell-Foley, Bipartisan Policy Center, and Hartington King English LLC.
