The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will host a technical assistance webinar on the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD) Coordinating Center Research Opportunity Announcement (ROA) (announcement number tbd). Please see the AIM-AHEAD Notice of Intent to Publish (NOT-OD-21-156) for more information.
This solicitation will establish the AIM-AHEAD Coordinating Center (A-CC), comprised of four cores:
1. Administrative Core: Project management, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and outreach to increase the diversity of researchers in AI/ML related research, with emphasis on health disparities research.
2. Data Science Training Core: Assess, develop, and implement data science training curriculum to increase capacity among diverse population groups, specifically underrepresented minorities.
3. Data and Research Core: Linking and preparing electronic health records (EHRs), social determinants of health (SDOH), and other data sources for the development of AI/ML use cases which will ameliorate health disparities.
4. Infrastructure Core: Assessment of data, computing, and software infrastructure models, tools, resources, and AI computing models that will facilitate AI/ML and health disparities research; and establishment of pilot data and analysis environments to accelerate overall A-CC aims.
The purpose of this webinar is to provide more detail about this funding opportunity and review specific criteria.
