Photo of the Week: Improving Industrial Operations and Cybersecurity with Vibrational Intelligence System

Los Alamos National Laboratory developed the patent-pending Vibration Intelligence System for Industrial Operations and Networks (VISION) to supply facility-level optimization and cybersecurity monitoring. The nonintrusive wireless vibration sensor with machine learning provides comprehensive fluid flow monitoring through most machinery types, producing cost savings in energy consumption, maintenance, and downtime. VISION overcomes cost and safety limitations that restrict traditional methods to critical machinery. Monitoring machinery operation independent of industrial control systems and the internet provides cyberattack vigilance. The Department of Homeland Security Accelerator Commercialization Program and the Department of Energy support technology demonstration and partnership development with industry to protect infrastructure control systems.
