Sensing Platform Gains Momentum Through Rigorous Testing

October 16, 2026

VastVision Technologies, a New Mexico startup developing advanced sensing and asset-tracking technologies, is expanding its operations and commercial efforts with support from the New Mexico Lab-Embedded Entrepreneur Program (NM LEEP).

The company, founded by Kyle Guin, is developing solutions designed to monitor critical assets and infrastructure in complex environments where conventional sensing and tracking systems can be limited. The technology, originally advanced at Sandia National Laboratories, has potential applications in energy, industrial operations, and national security.

Since joining the fourth NM LEEP cohort in 2024, VastVision has established a laboratory and manufacturing space in Albuquerque, grown its team to more than seven employees, and launched pilot projects to test its technology in real-world environments. The company has also secured pilot work with a defense prime contractor and received $925,000 in funding to advance its technology.

NM LEEP has connected VastVision with mentors, industry relationships, and national laboratory resources as the company develops its commercial capabilities. The program has also helped strengthen the company’s ongoing relationship with researchers at the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA).

The company’s growth comes as it works to make persistent, reliable sensing and tracking more accessible in challenging environments. Its platform is intended to provide organizations with greater visibility into critical assets, supporting more informed decision-making where traditional approaches may not provide sufficient coverage or reliability.

VastVision’s development also illustrates the role of NM LEEP in helping New Mexico startups move laboratory technologies toward commercial applications. By combining access to national laboratory expertise with business development and industry connections, the program has supported VastVision’s expansion while helping establish the company as an emerging player in the sensing and asset-tracking sector.
