Utilizing OTT Resources to Promote Licensing and Collaboration

The NIH Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) has been developing high-quality marketing abstracts for technologies without them. This OTT partnership with the National Eye Institute (NEI) has so far produced 32 new abstracts for NEI technologies. OTT's abstract writer, Wayne Pereanu, drafts and publishes the abstracts for technologies.

The 32 new abstracts enhance the accessibility and appeal of NEI's portfolio to potential licensees and collaborators. To date, this effort has more than doubled their total number of published abstracts.

The author of this piece in the NIH newsletter, Richelle Holnick, has also partnered with the NEI to amplify the reach of technologies for which abstracts already existed. She has placed targeted promotions on the NIH Technology Transfer Community website and coordinated social media campaigns, featuring a total of 17 technologies since the fall of 2025. These efforts have helped drive awareness and connect the technologies with a broader audience.

Together, these initiatives demonstrate how leveraging OTT resources can significantly enhance technology visibility and foster new licensing and collaboration opportunities.
