AVs at Work: National Security

Modern autonomous driving technology was birthed by defense needs and kickstarted into life by the DARPA Challenges — and it continues to be an important technological priority for the U.S. military. In this Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE) virtual panel, we will look beyond our normal focus on the public roadways to examine how the military is using AV technology to prepare for a future with an increasingly automated national defense. We’ll explore how the U.S. Department of Defense is using autonomous vehicle technology to modernize its ground vehicle systems, improving safety, efficiency and readiness.

Panelists

Kevin Mills – Associate Director for Ground Vehicle Robotics, U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Center (DEVCOM) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC)
