For 15 years, the Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute (JGI) has convened an annual gathering of leaders from diverse disciplines to highlight how they are addressing the world’s most pressing energy and environmental challenges. Many of these presenters have been supported by the research infrastructure – DNA sequencing, synthesis, metabolomics, data analysis, new technology development – that the JGI offers through its User Programs on a competitive, peer-reviewed basis to the worldwide scientific community.
For the first time, the JGI will convene the annual Genomics of Energy & Environment Meeting virtually for three days of engaging talks and poster sessions, August 30 through September 1. The lineup of speakers represents the full range of career stages and project types that the JGI supports. Short talks will be selected from submitted abstracts. All are welcome and encouraged to participate. No prior experience as a JGI user is necessary. While the meeting is free, registration will be required.
