On behalf of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science & Technology Directorate (S&T), please join us for the inaugural Homeland Security Startup Studio 21: Converge Event, a startup pitch and showcase event on Thursday, August 26th from 1 - 4:30 p.m. EDT.
The Homeland Security Startup Studio aims to identify, accelerate and deliver commercial applications of technologies from U.S. laboratories and research centers to raise awareness of the Department of Homeland Security's mission. Phase I of the Homeland Security Startup Studio kicked off in April 2021, in which 10 teams learned foundational entrepreneurial knowledge and skill sets to quickly assess the potential use cases for their matched technologies. Phase II of the program will focus on early-stage company formation, with five of the original teams working toward this goal.
The remaining finalists will be thrust into the spotlight, showcasing their findings and efforts to build companies around deep technology thus far. The teams will have the opportunity to pitch in front of an audience of Homeland Security experts, investors and Venture Capital representatives, highlighting market opportunities and plans for further development of the technologies and company growth. The audience will have a chance to ask questions and engage with the teams post-pitch through a series of networking breakout sessions.
In addition to pitches from the startups, the event will feature a keynote address from Kathryn Coulter Mitchell, the DHS Senior Official Performing the Duties of Under Secretary for Science and Technology (S&T), Department of Homeland Security.
