Prerequisite
Attendees should have completed a recent [email protected][id=1512gpcurl124]@ course or have a basic foundation in the background, concepts, and processes of federal technology transfer. A working understanding of intellectual property and patents as they relate to technology transfer is highly recommended.

Course Description
This course examines the elements of an effective license and provides an overview of how to successfully negotiate a license agreement. Instructors will explore the differences in licensing processes between government- and contractor-operated federal laboratories. The course will include highly interactive mini- workshops and simulations, so be prepared to role-play in class.

Course Materials
The course book will include instructor presentations and a range of licensing templates and samples. Many of the course materials will also be available in a downloadable app for the meeting, and instructor presentations will also be made available online as part of the meeting proceedings.

Additional Course Information
A continuing education credit valued at 0.8 continuing education units (CEUs) is available through Montana State University. Students wishing to receive CEUs must register with Montana State University at [email protected][id=1512gpcurl126]@ and pay a $25.00 application fee.

While this course is not designed for attorneys, continuing legal education (CLE) credit may be available at the discretion of your state bar. Attendees are responsible for coordinating their own applications for CLE credit. The FLC will provide documentation to support your application for credit upon request.
