The Harold Metcalf Service Award recognizes individuals involved in technology transfer activities who have provided noteworthy support to the technology transfer process, furthering the mission of the FLC. It honors an FLC Member Laboratory employee who has provided sustained significant service to the FLC as an organization.

Submission Criteria
All FLC Awards submissions must be submitted through the lab’s designated agency or laboratory representative.
- Nominee must be an FLC Member Laboratory employee. Identify the nominee and their organization.
- Describe how technology transfer activities align with the member laboratory's mission and strategic goals. Provide specific examples of how these activities contributed to the lab's purpose and objectives. [10 points/150 words]
- Specifically identify and describe the exemplary and sustained individual service of the nominee to the FLC, including volunteer positions with the FLC. Include details about the nominee’s volunteer positions, leadership roles, and any long-term initiatives they have spearheaded within the FLC. Highlight specific examples of significant service that demonstrate the nominee’s dedication and impact. [55 words/300 points]
- Describe the impact of the nominated individual’s service to the technology transfer profession and their contributions to the FLC. Include details about FLC positions held (or currently holding), active participation on FLC committees, and any other recognition or awards received from the FLC. Describe how the nominee’s actions have advanced the goals of the FLC, supported peer members, and influenced the broader technology transfer community. [35 points/300 words]
