Members of the FLC's Northeast Region gathered in New London, CT, last week to network in person, tour the U.S. Coast Guard's Research and Development Center, honor the region's successes and brainstorm for the future.
Forty three people—the maximum number of registrations allowed—attended the one and a half day event, which was organized by Regional Coordinator Laurie Bagley of Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, Regional Coordinator David Lee of the Army Combat Capabilities Development Command and Deputy Regional Coordinator Joe DiRenzo of the U.S. Coast Guard.
In keeping with the meeting's theme of "Seizing the Future," the three organizers led a brainstorming session exploring what possibilities lie ahead for the region. Other highlights of the event included a "speed dating" session that featured eight-minute presentations by eight labs from the region and a recognition ceremony for four regional success stories selected from the pool of 2023 FLC Awards submissions.
The regional award winners were:
Excellence in Technology Transfer
State and Local Economic Development
Outstanding Technology Transfer Professional
