Research Consortium to Find Undocumented Orphaned Wells

A research consortium of national labs, the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC), and the Department of the Interior has been formed to develop technologies and best practices that will locate undocumented orphaned wells. The consortium includes representatives from the IOGCC, the U.S. Department of the Interior, and national labs including National Energy Technology Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
