United States Air Force pilots became the first-ever airmen to fly an electric aircraft with military airworthiness. AFWERX Agility Prime partnered with BETA Technologies on its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, ALIA. Air Force engineers and BETA’s flight test team have worked together for three years to develop and refine this fully electric aircraft with zero operational emissions. Col. Nathan Diller, Director of AFWERX, noted that milestones such as this are furthering the Agility Prime mission to accelerate capabilities for both commercial and defense use.
