USDA's ASF vaccine, focus of 2022 FLC Award, moves closer to commercialization

April 29, 2022

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's vaccine candidate for African Swine Fever (ASF)—which was the focus of a 2022 FLC Excellence in Technology Transfer Award—has passed an important safety test required for regulatory approval, moving the vaccine one step closer to commercial availability. The results of the safety study, conducted collaboratively by scientists from the USDA's Agricultural Research Service and Vietnam-based technology transfer partner NAVETCO, were published April 22 in the journal Viruses.

The ASF vaccine project will be recognized at a June 22 awards ceremony as part of the 2022 FLC National Meeting. Learn more about this and other award-winning federal tech transfer efforts in the 2022 FLC Awards Publication.
