(WASHINGTON, DC – February 17, 2022) The Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) has entered into a strategic partnership with Xelevate LLC, based in Loudoun County, VA, as part of an ongoing campaign to help small to large businesses with innovative technologies succeed through collaborations with federal laboratories.

Xelevate LLC is an Unmanned Systems Center of Excellence testing facility located near Washington, D.C. Xelevate signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the FLC on February 16, 2022.

Under the agreement, the FLC and Xelevate will jointly encourage partnerships between federal laboratories and industry, especially small businesses, to help move technologies out of the lab and into the marketplace – a vital process known as technology transfer. These public-private partnerships will support new innovations, leading to job creation and economic benefits.

The FLC and Xelevate will work together to promote and participate in mutually beneficial activities such as joint meetings, sponsorships, and special events to connect federal labs with entrepreneurs and small businesses and spur economic development in the UAS space.

“At Xelevate, we are having unmanned systems stakeholders (businesses, government agencies, academia, etc.) testing & developing, demonstrating, training, innovating, collaborating, and holding conferences and symposiums. We continually see clients looking for additional ways to boost their competitive edge, which includes incorporating unique technological capabilities. Having a strategic partnership with FLC not only further increases the opportunities for technology transfer, it also provides more visibility for unmanned systems stakeholders to use technologies in new, innovative ways not explored before in the emerging world of unmanned systems, ultimately pushing cutting edge technology further into the next- and needed- horizon,” said Marcy Eisenberg, Co-Founder and President of Xelevate.

“Unmanned aerial systems represent a rapidly growing technology sector with tremendous potential for federal labs and their industry partners,” said Paul Zielinski, Executive Director of the FLC. “This collaboration with Xelevate will help facilitate more public-private partnerships focused on UAS technologies, which will create jobs and drive further expansion of that market.”
