Elevate Training Series for DoD T2 Professionals to Kick Off in Washington, D.C.

Dept. of Defense

The year-long innovation and entrepreneurship training series, Elevate, will kick off on Tuesday, January 15, in Washington, D.C. Aimed at technology transfer (T2) professionals and sponsored by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OUSD) R&E Defense Laboratories Office, the series was designed by Fed Tech to increase the interaction between Department of Defense (DoD) laboratory personnel and industry, nontraditional partners, and the venture community.

Elevate is intended to strengthen the relationship between DoD laboratories and partners to more effectively transition technologies to the warfighter and commercial markets.

The kickoff session will feature day-long training focused on how to create an "innovation greenhouse" around your laboratory. Dr. Oliver Schlake, a professor at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business, will be the featured speaker for the opening session. A world-renowned innovation and creativity expert, Dr. Schlake has consulted across government, industry and the venture world, helping dozens of organizations innovate more effectively.

Elevate training sessions are open to all employees and contractors of DoD laboratories. The kickoff session will be available to remote attendees as well. The training series will be a mix of in-person events and webinars. More information on Elevate can be found at
