BROADBAND CARS MICROSCOPE WITH DUAL SIGNAL GENERATION

We have demonstrated a broadband coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (BCARS) microscope that very rapidly acquires signal through a novel and highly efficient approach to signal generation. This approach uses the combination of a narrowband laser pulse and a broadband laser pulse to simultaneously generate signal by two distinct mechanisms. This highly efficient dual signal generation approach allows us to collect BCARS microscopy signal from biological tissues much faster than has been previously demonstrated.
