The FLC received two APEX Awards for Publication Excellence in 2026, bringing its total to five APEX Awards since 2024. This year, the FLC received its awards for the Annual Report from FY24 and for the 2026 FLC Planner.
The FLC Annual Report is produced each year, as required by law, to highlight the Consortium's efforts in supporting and promoting federal technology transfer. The Annual Report is sent to the President, Congress, and relevant agencies, and is made available to FLC members and key stakeholders as well. APEX awarded the FLC for its Annual Report for the third straight year.
The FLC Planner received recognition from APEX for its stunning design and creative use of marketing. The popular, 14-month wall calendar featured dozens of federal technologies in the form of color photography and short and informative descriptions. The Call for Submissions to the 2027 FLC Planner is in progress now, open until Aug. 17, 2026.
APEX is the Annual Awards for Publication Excellence competition. It is open to communicators in corporate, nonprofit, and independent settings. The 2026 Awards are the 38th annual APEX. The FLC also received recognition from APEX in 2024 for the Hospital section of its LabTech In Your Life virtual world.
The FLC received these two 2026 APEX Awards for its achievements in graphic design, editorial content, and overall communications excellence, beating out thousands of competitors.
"The FLC plays a vital role in promoting the value of the federal laboratories to support turning federally funded research into real-world impact," said FLC Executive Director Paige George. "We communicate the importance of discoveries made in federal laboratories and help industry find and access those capabilities and equip federal laboratory staff with the tools, training, and partnerships they need to move innovations into the marketplace. We are thrilled to be recognized by APEX and look forward to continuing to set the industry standard."
