PNNL's Planning Tool Fights Fires From Space

The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) has created a satellite image processing system, RADR-Fire, to help firefighting personnel, utilities operators, and other decisionmakers to not only better understand wildfires, but also predict future fires.
PNNL also developed a new tool with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) to help government agencies know where to thin or apply controlled burns.
