The Joint Center for Deployment and Research in Earth Abundant Materials (JCDREAM)

The state of Washington is aggressively pursuing a clean energy transition, aiming to be carbon-free by 2040. This transition calls for the electrification of transportation, grid-scale renewable energy sources, and innovative solutions for sectors where those applications are not yet feasible.

The size of our global energy infrastructure and transportation sector means that the technologies used to achieve these milestones will be deployed on a massive scale. Many of these technologies rely on critical materials and will create an unmanageable strain on those resources.

To ensure that new technologies are aligned with sustainable critical material supply chains, JCDREAM aims to be an example of exceptional industry, academic, and government research collaboration and provide a template for global deployment of solutions. Aaron Feaver, JDREAM director, will describe the research accomplishments of the organization over the past several years and direction for the future.
