Offshore Wind event reconfigures: Virtual in April, in-person in August

March 19, 2020

The Business Network for Offshore Wind, like other organizations with conferences planned for spring 2020, is turning its April event - the International Partnering Forum - into a virtual experience. But the organizers are also rescheduling the in-person aspects of the event for August 18-21, so that registrants can still benefit from networking and other key experiences that are less compatible with social distancing.

The three-day IPF event is a technical conference for offshore wind in the United States and is dedicated to moving the industry forward. The 3 days are packed with a cutting-edge educational program, top-notch exhibitors, and abundant networking opportunities with global top-tier companies in offshore wind.

The two-pronged response to the current COVID-19 crisis is intended to give everyone the opportunity to fully experience the two hallmarks of the IPF conference: its valuable educational content and its networking opportunities, organizers say.

First, the IPF Virtual event on April 21–22 will deliver the most time-sensitive information on the U.S. offshore wind market. This virtual event is open to all registered attendees. After the event, the content will be posted to a password-protected IPF webpage, where attendees can view any of the content at their convenience. Second, the IPF Together event on August 18-21 in Providence, Rhode Island will deliver additional elements, including: plenaries, more workshops, the trade show exhibit hall, WindMatch and other valuable networking opportunities, such as the CareerMatch job fair, and tours. The plenaries and workshops will also be recorded and posted to a password-protected IPF webpage following the event.
