Photo of the Week: ERDC’s Software Vital to Modernization of U.S. Air Force’s B-52 Aircraft

Through an interagency collaboration, the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) leveraged its cloud-based digital engineering environment to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) in modernizing the B-52H fleet (pictured here). ERDC’s Information Technology Lab enabled secure, distributed access to high-performance computing and its collaboratively developed Department of Defense CREATE™ software suite (inset), facilitating virtual prototyping and reducing testing timelines and costs. This environment streamlined data sharing, safeguarded intellectual property, and accelerated design decisions. The partnership delivers operational benefits while enhancing acquisition processes across the Department of Defense.
