The SNAP cable is a device for rapidly rapidly sharing sensor data on radiological, chemical and biological threats among warfighters in the field and their commanders. It includes a printed circuit board assembly that houses the hardware and firmware necessary for providing an embedded webserver and communications via existing USB cable or ethernet protocols. This new cable technology, developed by US Army DEVCOM Biological Center, can be used to transmit sensor data over a radio or computer network. The continuing evolution of telecommunications allow this system to provide unmatched situational awareness for any decision-making scenario, enabling the simultaneous connection of computers, smart and mobile phones, tablets, and radios.
