Long-lengths of oxygen tubing often become entangled, thereby interrupting oxygen flow and putting users at high risk of falls and serious injury. This device, developed by an in-home Physical Therapist, operates hands-free and automatically senses and maintains a constant tension between the oxygen source and the user. This ensures the tubing lays flat on the floor and does not inhibit mobility. The VA Innovators Network, Technology Transfer Program and Technology Transfer Assistance Project worked with our clinician to determine patient needs and current standard of care and prototype the device for user testing.
