The FLC National Meeting is almost here! We have a compelling lineup of training and sessions. At its core, the National Meeting is a networking and learning event and hopefully there is something that will suit your needs. We have several training offerings, from basics for beginners to more advanced discussions. We will welcome our keynote speaker, Ray Leach, CEO, JumpStart, Inc., who will share insights on bringing technology to market in his speech, “Partnering to Advance Technology Transfer.”
There are great tech transfer sessions, honors for our award winners, and a Town Hall discussion that we can’t wait to hear you weigh in on. We will also hear from our Lab Director of the Year, announce your election results, and more! It promises to be a very full and impactful three days. See the full schedule here. We hope you’ve registered already. If not, do so today here.
As we start to emerge from the pandemic lockdowns and restrictions, we have learned a great deal and want to keep the momentum going. We have found that virtual events are ideal for attracting companies to check out the tech transfer opportunities at our member labs. To capitalize on this trend, we have pivoted our regional meetings toward virtual technology-focused events to better facilitate tech transfer. First up are the Mid-Continent region with a Quantum event July 19-20 and the Midwest Region with Microelectronics July 27. These will be followed by biotech, cyber, and climate themed events later in the fall. We want to invite you and your lab to participate and present at these events –no matter which region you call home—and want to welcome potential partners to attend and see what we have to offer.
There are many other exciting changes coming this summer. We will be launching a new and fully refreshed FLC website. Among other things, the website will include a new Learning Management System to improve our learning content and better organize and offer the training you need. Our FLC Business platform is also being rebuilt, and we look forward to fully launching that new system around the turn of the year.
The FLC is here to support you and your tech transfer mission. The opportunities mentioned above are among the many services the FLC offers. We look forward to engaging with you, and please let us know how we can best support you!
