The FLC Awards Programs annually recognizes federal laboratories and their industry partners for outstanding technology transfer achievements at both Regional and National levels. We recognize federal scientists, investors and federal T2 professionals through the Regional and National Awards Program, as well as the innovative professionals who work alongside them to achieve their goal of creating available technologies for countless people around the world.

2021 National Awards Program
The 2021 FLC National Awards Program is complete with the award winners announced here. The winners and their technology transfer achievements were recognized at the 2021 FLC National Meeting, which took place virtually from April 6 - 8. If you registered for the event please sign in to the platform and view the awards gallery here for more information.
2021 Far West Regional Awards Program
Submissions to the Far West Award Program closed Friday, June 4, 2021.
The Far West Region has five different award categories:
- Outstanding Technology Development Award
- Outstanding Partnership Award
- Outstanding Commercialization Success Award
- Laboratory Representative of the Year Award
- Technology Transfer Professional of the Year Award
An Awards Ceremony will be held for the award winners at the joint 2021 FLC Mid-Continent and Far West Regional Meeting.
2021 Mid-Continent Regional Awards Program
The Mid-Continent Region closed its 2021 Awards program on Friday, June 4, 2021.
The program has six different award categories:
- Excellence in Technology Transfer Award
- Partnership Award
- State and Local Economic Development Award
- Notable Technology Award
- Regional Laboratory Award
- Outstanding Technology Transfer Professional Award
An Awards Ceremony will be held for the award winners at the joint 2021 FLC Mid-Continent and Far West Regional Meeting.
2021 Midwest Regional Awards Program
The Midwest Region's Awards Program will open on Monday, May 31, 2021.
- Excellence in Technology Transfer
- Interagency Partnership
- State and Local Government
- NEW! Educational and Federal Laboratory Partnership
- NEW! Spin-In Award
The deadline to submit is Friday, June 25 at 5:00 pm CDT / 6:00 pm EDT. An Awards Banquet will be held to honor the award winners at the joint 2021 FLC Midwest and Southeast Regional Meeting.
2021 Southeast Regional Awards Program
The Southeast Regional Awards Program will open on Monday, May 17th.
There are four different categories to choose from:
- Excellence in Technology Transfer
- Interagency Partnership
- NEW! Educational and Federal Laboratory Partnership
- NEW! Spin-In Award
The deadline to submit is Friday, June 25 at 5:00 pm CDT / 6:00 pm EDT. An Awards session will be held to honor the award winners at the joint 2021 FLC Midwest and Southeast Regional Meeting.
2021 Mid-Atlantic Regional Awards Program
The 2021 Mid-Atlantic Regional Awards Program will be opening Monday, June 14, 2021.
The Mid-Atlantic Region has 9 categories.
The deadline to submit is Friday, July 9, 2021, at 5 p.m. ET.
2021 Northeast Regional Awards Program
The Northeast Region's Awards Program will be opened Monday, June 7, 2021.
The Northeast Region has four categories:
- Excellence in Technology Transfer Award
- Interagency Partnership Award
- NEW! Rookie Researcher Award
- NEW! Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award
The deadline to submit is Friday, July 9, 2021, at 5 p.m. ET.
