(WASHINGTON, DC – February 6, 2023) The Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) has entered into a strategic partnership with DEFENSEWERX. as part of an ongoing campaign to build stronger relationships and greater collaboration between federal laboratories and small businesses, while facilitating economic development through innovation hubs with government partners across the nation.
DEFENSEWERX based in Niceville, FL, is a non-profit organization that works with businesses, academia and government partners to facilitate innovative solutions that benefit a myriad of federal partners. The MOU was signed with the FLC on January 31, 2023.
Under the agreement, the FLC and DEFENSEWERX will jointly encourage collaborations between federal laboratories and businesses to help move technologies out of the lab and into the marketplace – a vital process known as technology transfer. These public-private partnerships will support new innovations, leading to job creation and economic benefits.
The FLC and DEFENSEWERX will work together to promote and participate in mutually beneficial activities such as joint meetings, sponsorships, and special events to connect federal labs with entrepreneurs and small businesses and spur economic development with small businesses and defense-related organizations.
