Cybersecurity Awareness Training: A Building Block for Power Sector Cybersecurity

Building a robust cybersecurity defense program is critical to enhancing grid security and power sector resilience. But how can utility leaders create a culture that that ‘builds security in’ and aligns with the mission and vision of the organization?

To help answer that question, National Renewable energy Laboratory (NREL) researchers are hosting the second in a series of webinars developed in collaboration with CARILEC (the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation) and through the USAID-NREL Partnership’s Resilient Energy Platform.

This webinar will focus on the importance of Cybersecurity Awareness Training as an essential building block needed to develop a balanced cybersecurity program. The webinar will also highlight the role that data, success metrics, staff trainings, and creating a culture of cybersecurity plan in a well-rounded Cybersecurity Awareness Program, as outlined in the NREL technical report, Power Sector Cybersecurity Building Blocks.

Speakers for this event include:
• Mansfield Blackwood, US Agency for International Development (USAID)
• Dr. Cletus Bertin, CARILEC
• Tami Reynolds, NREL
