FAA's Collaboratively Developed Optimal Descents Now Save Fuel at 64 US Airports

With Optimal Profile Descents now implemented in Kansas City, Omaha, Reno and seven airports in Florida, the Federal Aviation Administration estimates that the industry will save more than 90,000 gallons of fuel on average and will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 27,000 tons annually. The fuel-saving landing routes were developed in partnership with the Georgia Institute of Technology and other collaborators.
