The Air Force Research Laboratory Weapons Directorate (AFRL/RW) nominates the Doolittle Institute’s (DI) Technology Transfer (T2) Team for exceptional support to the AFRL/RW Office of Research and Technology Applications (ORTA).
DI provides expertise and experience that is often difficult for a Federal Lab to attract and recruit. DI’s Technology Transfer team has brought to bear experience as entrepreneurs, engineers, business managers and leaders. The Technology Transfer Team at DI has created the environment for change at AFRL/RW, and in doing so, has increased dramatically the number of invention disclosures leading to more patent applications and, in time, issued patents.
From FY2016 to FY2017 there was a 400% increase in invention disclosures alone and we are on track to exceed the 10 disclosures in FY2017 again in FY2018. DI’s T2 Team also inspired growth in the AFRL/RW Partnering Mechanisms, which include CRADA’s, CTA’s, EPA’s, MOA’s and MOU’s. DI goes above and beyond in their support of the AFRL/RW ORTA and its Technology Transfer mission. The DI T2 team is highly deserving of the FLC Southeast Region Outstanding Service Award.
