We're looking for striking, high-quality images that capture the people, partnerships, and  technologies driving federal tech transfer. Selected photos will be featured in the 2026 FLC Planner, our signature 14-month wall calendar distributed across the innovation ecosystem.

Submission Requirements

1. A high-resolution photo (or a designed graphic accompanying a photo) of the featured technology that showcases the R&D conducted at your lab.

  • Full size (10" tall x 13" wide)
  • Horizontal (landscape) orientation
  • High resolution (300 dpi at full size)
  • AI, .EPS, or .SVG format preferred. PSD and .PNG files accepted at 300 DPI

All of these requirements MUST be met for your submission to be considered. No more than eight submissions per federal laboratory will be accepted. Note: You have the option to include one main image and a second image to be used as an inset. The inset photo MUST add to the story being told by the main image.

The image(s) should:

  • Be clear and easily understood
  • Be engaging and eye-catching
  • Show the technology or application of technology described
  • Include at least one photograph (graphics are acceptable, but must be accompanied by a photo)

2. A photo description explaining the technology’s scientific relevance, the tech transfer effort(s) associated with the technology, and its potential impact.

  • Description MUST be 100 words or less.
  • Description MUST match the provided image(s) and explain the technology’s purpose and significance in non-scientific terms, avoiding or defining technical terms and spelling out acronyms.
  • Describe the tech transfer efforts and their impact or potential impact.

3. A laboratory bio

  • Bios MUST be 70 words or less.
  • All acronyms must be spelled out on first reference.

4. A photo credit (the name of the person or laboratory responsible for taking the photo).

5. Laboratory logo: Vector or high-resolution logo file (.AI, .EPS, or .SVG preferred; .PSD and .PNG files accepted at 300 DPI). Partner logos may also be included if the partner is also a federal laboratory.

Photo Selection

The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. ET on July 29, 2025. No more than eight submissions per lab will be accepted.

Images selected for the 2026 Planner will be notified via email. Submissions not selected to be featured in the 2026 Planner may appear elsewhere on the FLC website, including in the FLC Learning Center and the Digest’s Photo of the Week.
