The Clay Minerals Society (CMS) annual meeting is the largest international multidisciplinary conference about clay minerals research, applications and technology development in different disciplines. The conference will facilitate collaborative interactions among scientists working in private industry, academia and national laboratories and, in addition, will offer a cost-effective forum for advancing clay minerals science in many areas.
The scientists will present recent findings in a series of topical sessions that will be organized in this conference. Importantly, this is a great opportunity for scientists around the world to become familiar with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory of the USA Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science and the Environmental Molecular Science Laboratory, which is a DOE users’ facility equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and one of the leading laboratories conducting research with clay minerals.
CMS is an international organization devoted to the study of clays and clay-sized minerals. The society encourages exchange of research findings through the publication of Clays and Clay Minerals, sponsorship of an annual meeting, online access to the archived journals, special publications, the Source Clays Repository, and other network building activities. In addition, CMS members have access to journals through GSW (GeoScienceWorld), which is an internet research resource, and receive Elements, a leading scientific journal/magazine designed to integrate different sub-disciplines such as mineralogy, petrology, and geochemistry, and it includes regular features, news of the societies, awards, announcements of publications, book reviews, and a calendar of future meetings.
