This training will focus on developing specific skills related to inventor engagement, commercialization assessment and small business collaboration. The session will be built around multiple case studies taken from real world examples, and feature a heavy emphasis on small group collaborative exercises with tangible takeaways from each section. Participants should expect to learn about methods to interact productively internally with researchers and externally with small businesses interested in licensing and collaborative opportunities. A specific focus will be given to facilitating investor engagement, basic market assessment for pre-licensing discussions, and post-licensing support functions that labs can provide to small businesses.
