Novel Materials in Thermal Energy Storage for Buildings

Energy storage is becoming increasingly important to support affordable, reliable, and resilient energy delivery. Thermal energy storage can be particularly useful to buildings since significant fractions of energy in the built environment are used to meet thermal loads. Though their value has been successfully demonstrated, thermal energy storage systems are not ubiquitous throughout the building stock.

To help catalyze further development in thermal energy storage technologies, the Department of Energy (DOE) Building Technologies Office (BTO) is hosting a webinar series to engage stakeholders to identify both potential barriers as well as research, development, and deployment needs for thermal energy storage.
