The test rig is referred to as the Suspension Test Analysis Rig (STAR)

The STAR is capable of conducting durability testing of suspension systems, including road arms for tracked vehicles. It is capable of extreme velocity, and can simulate shock events in line with MIL-STD 810. Utilizing a head expander, or the integrated t-bed, the STAR can perform tests on a wide range of test items, and systems. The multi-degree of freedom control system allows for actuation of suspension components in all the directions they would be loaded in the field.

The STAR can test new components faster than placing the component on a vehicle and running the vehicle at the proving grounds. Especially when iterative component design changes are needed, the STAR can performing test much faster than full vehicle tests. The STAR can test tracked suspension systems and components due to its high force rating.
