Description

Purpose:

The Moriah Wind System Laboratory provides in-service support for the more than 50 U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Military Sealift Command ships on which the Moriah Wind System is currently installed. This laboratory also functions to test newly developed software prior to deployment to the fleet and software acceptance testing prior to Government acceptance.

Function:

The Moriah Wind System Lab is located at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ and provides the hardware and software simulators needed to test improved components and verify interface requirements for each of the ship class specific configurations.

Capabilities:

The laboratory comprises a wide range of system hardware, sensor simulators and interface simulators which allow the lab to test and provide quality software products to the fleet. Moriah system hardware housed in the lab is as follows: Wind Processing Unit (WPU), High End Display (HED), Low End Display (LED), Wind Sensor Unit (WSU), Temperature and Humidity Sensor Unit (THU) and Air Pressure Sensor Unit (APU). The lab's sensor simulators are comprised of the WSU Simulator, the APU Simulator and the THU Simulator. The lab's interface simulators are comprised of the Fiber Optic Data Multiplex System (FODMS), Navigation Sensor System Integration (NavSSI), WPU Simulator and Moriah Display Simulator.
