National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) robotics engineer Shelly Bagchi is developing technology that will allow hand gestures to manipulate the holographic image she sees in her headset and, in turn, control robotic arms. The technology allows programmers to task a robot remotely and makes quick programming with minimal training possible.
NIST promotes U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life.
